Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is a grant allocated to schools to support children from low income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals and those who, at any point in the last 6 years, have been eligible. The reasoning behind the Pupil Premium is that children who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in time are economically disadvadvantaged and at greater risk of educational underachievement than those who have never been eligible for Free School Meals. Additional funding in their schools can help to bridge any attainment gap between the attainment of economically disadvantaged pupils and others by providing additional learning opportunities for these children.
